RetroArmsWorks.com, a Type 01 FFL holder, specializes in the "retro" AR15,
but we also work on modern AR15 rifles and many other firearms as well. Call us!

What are the details on shipping back to the customer?

I send your parts back to you via USPS.  If you want additional shipping insurance to cover the value of the parts, add $2.00 per $100 of value and annotate the amount of insurance you want to purchase on the note you include with the parts.  Shipping insurance on parts shipped back to you is your option, and I am not responsible for uninsured or under-insured parts/packages that are lost or damaged.  After I have shipped your package, if I have your email address, I will send you an email with the tracking number. -- California residents add $10 for return shipping signature as required by your state law.

When do I pay for services?

When you send parts to be worked on, include the full payment in the box with your parts.  I accept cash, check, or money order.  Make checks out to "Retro Arms Works".  I do NOT accept PayPal or credit cards.

What is your shipping address?

US Postal Service:

R.A.W.
P.O. Box 53
Warsaw IL 62379

FedEx or UPS:

R.A.W.

245 S. 4th St

Warsaw, IL  62379

When is the best time to call?

Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm central time are my hours.  I don't always hear the phone, please try back if there is no answer.  My phone is a land-line, so I will not receive any text messages that you try to send.  Please try to limit calls to 5 minutes or so.

Can I send you my complete firearm, AR15 lower receiver, or serial numbered part?

Yes, I possess a Type 01 FFL.  I am licensed to perform gunsmithing on complete firearms and receivers. You can send your firearm directly to me and I can ship it directly back to your home address. I can also transfer firearms to residents of Illinois and contiguous states. NFA firearms are also accepted for repair.

Should I include a note with the parts I send, or will you just reference our email conversation?

I receive a large number of emails every day, and multiple packages arrive at my shop daily. It is very important for you to include a detailed note outlining all the work you want done in the box with your parts.  Please remember to include your shipping address.  I also request you include a phone number or email address in case I have a quick question for you.

What is your normal turn-around time on parts?

Under ordinary circumstances, I have orders done in 10 business days or less. Obviously, if you have a particularly large order, or are having some special work done, it will take some extra time.

When you parkerize, can you perfectly color match another part?

No, parkerizing is NOT like painting. Different metal characteristics take the chemicals differently. Temperature, time, and chemicals all have an effect on the final product. I will finish your part in a color consistent with what would commonly be found on a G.I. part.

Do you accept trades?

Sometimes, don't hesitate to ask.

Can you make a special/unusual part for me or take on a custom project?

My workload is extremely high, and I am not accepting any custom work.
