Retro Arms, a Type 01 FFL holder, specializes in the "retro" AR15,
but we also work on modern AR15 rifles and many other firearms as well. Call us!

Can I send you my complete firearm, AR15 lower receiver, or serial numbered part?

Yes, I possess a Type 01 FFL. I am licensed to perform gunsmithing on complete firearms and receivers. You can send your firearm directly to me, and I can ship it back, directly to your home address. I can also transfer firearms to residents of Illinois and contiguous states. NFA firearms are also accepted for repair (with your approved ATF Form 5).

When you parkerize, can you perfectly color match another part?

No, parkerizing is not like painting. Different metals take the colors differently. Temperature, time and chemicals all have an effect on the final product. I will finish your part in a color consistent with what would commonly be found on a GI part.

Can you engrave parts?

No, I am not set up for engraving.

When do I pay for services?

When you send parts to be worked on, include the full payment.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check or money order.

What is your shipping address?

John Thomas
245 S 4th St
Warsaw IL 62379

Do you accept trades?

Sometimes, don't hesitate to ask.

When is the best time to call?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am central time to 5:00 pm central time are my hours, but if necessary, you can call on the weekend, and as late as 9:00 pm on weekdays. I don't always hear the phone, so please try back if there is no answer.

Can you make a special/unusual part for me?

I do custom lathe and mill work on request.  If what you need done is beyond my capabilities, I won't hesitate to let you know.

What is your normal turn-around time on parts?

Under ordinary circumstances, I have parts done in 10 business days or less.  Obviously, if you have a particularly large order, or are having some special work done, it will take some extra time.

Do you work on anything besides retro AR15s?

Yes, I can help you out with most firearms related projects.

Should I include instructions with the parts I send, or will you just reference our email conversation?

I receive a large number of emails every week and multiple parts arrive at my shop every day. It is very important that you include a detailed note outlining all the work you want done. Also, please remember to include your shipping address.
